We are pleased to announce the second workshop in the series “AI in Swiss Academic Libraries”:

AI Literacy and Tools
Wednesday, 19 August 2026, 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
ETH Zurich (Zentrum Campus)
Followed by an apéro
The workshop will be held in English

Please save the date. You will find an ICS calendar entry attached.

The workshop is aimed at professionals from academic libraries in Switzerland who work with, or are interested in, AI literacy, AI-supported literature discovery tools, and the related legal, ethical, and practical challenges.
It will provide a forum for exchange and discussion with a focus on topics and challenges that can be addressed more effectively through collaboration across institutions than by individual libraries working alone.

Help Shape the Workshop Programme

A central goal of this workshop is to identify shared challenges, exchange experiences, and explore opportunities for collaboration within the Swiss academic library community.

To ensure that the discussion topics during the exchange sessions reflect the needs and interests of participants, we invite you to contribute to our community voting.

Take Part in the Project Slam

One of the highlights of the workshop will be a Project Slam with posters.

Are you working on topics such as:

AI literacy and training initiatives,

AI-supported literature discovery and research tools,

Evaluation of AI tools,

legal, ethical, or governance aspects of AI in the library context or

other AI-related activities in academic libraries?

Then we warmly invite you to share your experiences, ideas, projects, or approaches with the community.

Project Slam contributions consist of:

a short presentation (3–5 minutes)

a poster for further discussion during breaks

Der Workshop richtet sich an Fachpersonen aus wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken in der Schweiz, die sich mit AI Literacy, KI-gestützter Literaturrecherche- und Discovery-Tools sowie damit verbundenen rechtlichen, ethischen und praktischen Herausforderungen beschäftigen oder daran interessiert sind. Er bietet einen Rahmen für den Austausch und die Diskussion, mit Fokus auf Themen und Herausforderungen, die sich in Zusammenarbeit zwischen Institutionen besser bearbeiten lassen als durch einzelne Bibliotheken allein.
